St. Stephen’s is a welcoming and affirming parish which openly accepts all of God’s children to worship with us and become part of our faith family.

Through visiting our virtual St. Stephen’s, we hope you will discover the work of the Holy Spirit in our parish and in our lives.

Sunday – Eucharist

St. Stephen’s celebrates every Sunday using the Book of Common Prayer’s service of Holy Eucharist, Rite II.

Mr. Stan Paschal and the talented members of the choir lead the music.

Currently, three preachers offer sermons on rotating Sundays:  Our Clergy Celebrant supplied by the Diocese of Fort Worth, Jason Tardiff, Licensed Lay Preacher; and Annette Mayer, Deacon. Each preacher speaks with a different style and focus, bringing a rich variety and depth in opening up the scriptures.

Once a month, childrens’ Sunday School is offered during the service, using the format of Godly Play, which is a Montessori-based method, inviting children to engage with the stories from scripture by hearing and seeing them, asking questions, and exploring through hands-on play and discussion. Mrs. Lynne Waltman leads the childrens’ Sunday School.

Afterwards, everyone is invited to stay and visit during the coffee hour. Our space is multi-functional, so we sometimes move the chairs around, put up tables, and have a meal after church as well.
