St. Stephen’s is a welcoming and affirming parish which openly accepts all of God’s children to worship with us and become part of our faith family.

Through visiting our virtual St. Stephen’s, we hope you will discover the work of the Holy Spirit in our parish and in our lives.

Remembering Sharon Kern

We are left bereft by the passing of Sharon Kern. The weekend after Thanksgiving she and Rick traveled to Indianapolis to attend the Wisconsin-Ohio football game and to spend time with Rick’s family. Early Saturday Sharon suffered a blood clot in her chest that led to a heart attack. Valiant efforts by EMT’s and hospital staff could not revive her. She entered God’s glory on Sunday, December 3, 2017.

Knitter, card maker, tuna seller, event team worker, outreach secretary, EFM graduate, Girl Scout troop organizer, web event poster, pillar of our parish family, friend, mother, grandmother, wife. Mere words can’t express the joy she brought daily or the grief we know today.

Please remember Rick and their family in your prayers as they move forward dealing with their loss. Contact Barb Cutter if you feel called to take on one of the tasks Sharon filled for our parish. It takes a village.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Sharon’s memory to Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains or to our church family. To donate to St. Stephen’s please click on the PayPal Donation Button above.
